VERITAS (Venus Emissivity, Radio Science, InSAR, Topography, and Spectroscopy) is a NASA mission designed to explore Venus, focusing on understanding the planet’s geological history and internal structure. Scheduled for launch in the late 2020s, VERITAS will use radar to map Venus’ surface in unprecedented detail, providing high-resolution topographic data. The mission will investigate how Earth’s neighboring planet, with similar size and composition, evolved so differently—offering insights into volcanism, tectonics, and the potential presence of water in Venus’ past. By unlocking Venus’ mysteries, VERITAS aims to advance our understanding of rocky planet evolution, both within and beyond our solar system.
