Naked mole rats are remarkable rodents known for their distinct appearance and extraordinary biological traits. Native to parts of East Africa, these small creatures are mostly hairless, with wrinkled pink or yellowish skin, and are adapted to life underground in complex burrow systems. One of their most notable features is their extreme longevity and resistance to cancer. Naked mole rats can live up to 30 years, which is exceptionally long for rodents of their size, and they exhibit very few signs of aging or cancer throughout their lives. They also have a unique social structure similar to that of bees or ants, with a single breeding queen and non-breeding workers, making them a subject of intense scientific study in the fields of aging, cancer research, and social biology.
