The universe encompasses all of space and time, including all forms of matter, energy, and the physical laws and constants that describe them. It is vast and possibly infinite in extent, containing billions of galaxies, each with millions to trillions of stars, and many more planets, moons, and other celestial bodies. The universe began approximately 13.8 billion years ago with the Big Bang, which marked the expansion from a singular state of extremely high temperature and density. This expansion continues today, as galaxies move away from each other, indicating that the universe is not static but dynamic and ever-changing.
