ExoMars is a collaborative space mission program between the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Russian space agency Roscosmos, aimed at exploring the Martian surface and atmosphere to understand the planet’s geology and search for signs of past and present life. The mission comprises multiple components launched in different phases. The first phase in 2016 included the Trace Gas Orbiter (TGO) and the Schiaparelli EDM lander. The TGO, which successfully entered Mars’ orbit, is designed to detect and analyze trace gases in the atmosphere, such as methane, which could potentially indicate biological or geological activity. Unfortunately, the Schiaparelli lander crashed during its descent due to a data glitch.
