Browsing: Sauropod

Sauropods were a group of long-necked, herbivorous dinosaurs that lived from the Late Triassic to the end of the Cretaceous period, approximately 210 to 66 million years ago. They are among the largest animals to have ever walked the Earth, with iconic members like Brachiosaurus, Diplodocus, and Argentinosaurus. Sauropods are characterized by their enormous size, long necks, long tails, massive bodies, and column-like legs that supported their weight. They primarily fed on vegetation, using their long necks to reach high into trees or sweep across vast areas of ground for food. These dinosaurs were widespread across all continents, and their size and sheer number make them one of the most successful and well-known dinosaur groups. Despite their size, their fossilized remains have provided key insights into dinosaur evolution, behavior, and physiology.
