Mars Express

Mars Express is a space exploration mission by the European Space Agency (ESA) launched in June 2003. Its main objective is to explore the planet Mars from orbit, with a focus on understanding the planet’s atmosphere, surface, and subsurface structures. Mars Express carries a suite of scientific instruments for imaging, radar, and spectroscopic investigations, which have contributed to major discoveries like the presence of water ice beneath the planet’s surface. The mission is notable for its high-resolution camera, which has provided detailed global maps of Mars’ topography and mineralogy.
