NASA’s 2022 agenda is packed with pioneering space initiatives, including capturing the first images from the James Webb Space Telescope, conducting the inaugural uncrewed Artemis lunar mission, and testing new technologies for cosmic and Earth observation. The agency aims to explore black holes, defend against asteroids, and further our understanding of the universe and our planet. Key launches like the DART impact mission and the X-59 quiet, supersonic plane demonstrate NASA’s commitment to expanding the frontiers of science and technology.

Receiving the first images from the James Webb Space Telescope, sending the first uncrewed Artemis mission around the Moon and back to Earth, sending NASA science and technology to the surface of the Moon on three missions with our commercial partners, and flying our first quiet, supersonic plane are just a few of the things NASA has planned for 2022.
