The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) is Japan’s national aerospace agency responsible for research, technology development, and the launch of satellites into orbit, as well as for manned and unmanned missions to space. Established in 2003 through the merger of three previously independent organizations, JAXA aims to contribute to the advancement of society and the global community by conducting various space and aeronautical activities. Among its numerous achievements, JAXA has developed satellites, sent probes to explore the moon and planets like Venus, and played a significant role in the International Space Station (ISS) through the development of the Kibo laboratory module and regular supply missions using the H-II Transfer Vehicle. JAXA also collaborates with other international space agencies, such as NASA and ESA, to further space exploration and technological development.
