Forests News

Forests are large areas dominated by trees and are crucial components of the Earth’s ecosystem. They come in various types, including tropical rainforests, which are biodiverse and found near the equator, temperate forests, which experience seasonal changes and are located in regions with moderate climates, and boreal forests or taigas, which are characterized by coniferous trees and are found in colder climates near the Arctic Circle. Forests play multiple essential roles: they act as carbon sinks, absorbing carbon dioxide and helping mitigate climate change; they regulate water cycles and maintain soil quality; and they provide habitat for a vast array of biodiversity, supporting countless species of plants, animals, and fungi.
